13 dead and 33 injured in highway crashes [BREAKING NEWS]

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, said thirteen persons were killed while about thirty three others were injured on Monday in road crashes along the nation's highways.

The crashes all occured before 4:00 p.m.

The Corps in a post said "7 persons were killed while 9 others were injured in a crash on the Kontagora - Tagina, highway about 43 km to Kotangora. It said two vehicles were involved; they are Toyota vehicles no AE 168 KMB and AA 649 BDN".

Also, the road safety agency reported that 3 soldiers were killed while seven others were injured in an auto crash on Abaji- Lokoja road; while two other persons were killed, and one injured in a crash at Omu Oke in Ekiti State.

"A female and a child lost their lives while a man was injured when a Toyota Previa with registration no. XB 392 LEM had a crash with a motorcycle on Omuo oke bypass in Ekiti state," the Corps said.

The FRSC also said a woman was killed, while five other persons were injured at Koton Karfi on Lokoja -Abuja road on Monday.

"A Volkswagen Vento with registration no AW 658 NEM and a truck XW 334 APP crashed at Koton Karfi leaving 1 woman and 5 other persons, (2M, 1F and 2 children) injured," the agency said.

The victims have been taken to Ideal Hospital in Koton Karfi for treatment.

Also, the FRSC is reporting that on the Asokoro -Nyanya freeway, three vehicles- a truck, a Honda car and a Nissan bus- were involved in a crash. One person was injured but no death was recorded. The victim has been taken to Asokoro Hospital, Abuja for treatment.

Ace comedian Francis Agoda a.k.a I Go Dye recently showed the compassionate side of him when he gave out a BMW Z3 convertible car to film editor and event manager, Amuwa Oluseyi Asurf

Asurf, a well known film editor, was involved in an automobile accident a few weeks back and had his car written off as a result of the crash. Even with the little I Go Dye has he was still able to open his garage and give out the car.

Meanwhile, it was double blessing for the seasoned editor who recently welcomed a child. Asurf has carved a niche for himself in the entertainment industry. He has edited series of films, produced shows for the likes of Wizkid, Basketmouth, AY and others.

Karen Igho who is a former BBA winner is seriously experiencing an horrible moment as you read; She was at an event last night which didn't turn out well for her. It really didn't!
She posted a couple of tweets this morning confirming this-

"Wow I got slapped at a smirnoff party, by a security guard!!! is it because I'm a woman? He loaded his gun and put it to my face at the car park, Said he will shoot me if I don't give him money... I said I didn't have. He slap me!! Now my face is swollen and I'm in pain!! The slap sent me landing on the floor and hitting my head. All I wanted to do was go support my friend @DENRELE_EDUN who hosted the event. I feel abused and hurt.
Even my father has never slapped me like this and the loading of the gun to shoot me wow am in shock. I know I have a good heart but I won't let this go without fighting for justice cos he might do it to someone else."

That's so-so embarrassing; Why is there no such law? Ehn??? A man laying his rough-hands on a lady (should be jailed). It's just doesn't speak well; Now considering the pain that 'damsel' is wallowing-in currently.
Sorry Karen, thats just one of those things that make up a famous Nigeria! I detest that behaviour.

Five children roasted to death in a fire accident in Lagos

On thursday, at Comfort Oboh Industrial estate, Kirikiri, Lagos, five children were seriously burnt to death in a building situated in that area.
According to reports, the fire started from a lit candle around 10pm by the Parents of the deceased Mr and Mrs Ogbona Augustine who sell local gin in that axis. The candle was lit for their children to sleep and left for their shop thereby locking the children inside the house.
Residents of the area said they discovered smoke rapidly emanating from the roof of the house which constitutes a large percentage of wood and escalated the fire. They tried all they could but to no avail.

Now read this: We contacted the fire service but they arrived late and could not even gain access to the scene beacause of tankers parked at kirikiri; and by that time they came, it was already late!
An eye witness also said there was a bang on the door and shout of help from within but nobody could go near the fire and we didn't hear the voice again. If the door had not been locked from outside, the children would have escaped.

So touching a story.... Please, if you make use of candle in abscence of power supply, kindly give it close attention as it is very dangerous when ignored to inflammable materials.

5 boys impregnate 11-year old girl in Calabar

It was a shocking story to the parents and neighbours of an 11 year old girl and pupil of Ikorenim Primary School in Calabar, Cross River State. Ekanem Asuquo, when a pregnancy test that was conducted on her at the General Hospital, Calabar revealed that she was carrying a four-month pregnancy.
The mother of the primary five pupil, who resides at 2, pipeline road Ikorenim had suspected pregnancy, going by the symptoms exhibited by the teenage girl, who was sick for a while as she failed to get well, despite long period of self medication.
The mother was rattled when it was discovered that the girl was pregnant after some tests.
A neighbour, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said "She has been at home for two months always complaining of one ailment or the other and the mother had to take her to the general hospital after home medication could not heal her in the hope that she could be treated there"
The neighbour said when the teenage girl was confronted by her mother, who illicit drugs over who was responsible for the pregnancy, she mentioned one Tony, one of the boys that patronises her mother's hot drinking joint.
However, the source hinted that when Tony was confronted, he said 'He was one of who dated the girl frst but another customer, Jones snatched her from him and when Jones was confroonted, he said he had since stopped dating the girl and mentioned another person, who when also confronted, mentioned another boy and the last count, the number was five.
It was gathered that the mother was infuriated when her daughter confirmed that she slept with all the boys mentioned and could not actually tell who was responsible. It was also gathered that two of the boys mentioned were tenants living in the woman's house.

When the distraught mother was asked what she was going to do, tears rolled down her cheek as she said "I leave everything to God"

Mother of Okonjo Iweala has been freed from kidnap [BREAKING NEWS]

It was just confirmed from a security source that Professor Kamene Okonjo, the mother of Nigeria's finance minister, Okonjo Iweala has been freed from kidnap with the help of security forces in Delta State.
She was kidnapped by a group of kidnappers called 'dare-devil' on the 9th of December, 2012 from her home.

A woman was caught by spanish police for smuggling over a kilogram of cocaine hidden inside her breasts. Really? *sighs*
The woman was caught at an airport in Barcelona when getting-off from a flight; The woman had two breast implaints 'conveying' cocaine. Each breast had an open cut underneath.

The police said:

She intended in that way to bring more than a kilogram of the drug into Spain

The woman was said to have been coming from Colombia and was taken to the hospital after being caught; The doctors removed the implants and it was confirmed that she was carrying 1.3 kilogram of cocaine in her breasst.

Good initiative by Senator Magnus Abe! Supporting the education in Rivers State, Senator Magnus has promised to give out 378 Jamb forms to indigenes of the state.
Candidates were picked from seven local government areas including Andoni, Eleme, Gokana, Nkoro and others. The programme started in 2011 with 189 students benefiting from the fruitful initiative.
According to sources, the move is geared toward assisting less-privileged students across the district.

Reports have it that the remains of the late actor, Enebeli Elebuwa will arrive at MMIA, Ikeja tomorrow right from India.
In case you don't know, the late Elebuwa died in an indian hospital after serious attack of stroke and he battled it for over a year before he was now flown to India las October for treatment sponsored by Delta State government.
However, there's no burial details announced by the family yet.
