Postpone February's Election Or Else... - Dasuki

Postpone Election Or Else... - Dasuki
Reuters reports that National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki amid a discussion at London research organization Chatham House solicited the Chairman from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Jega to defer next month election.

He expresses his reasons as the moderate dispersion of biometric voter cards and said a postponement inside the time permitted by the law would be a decent thought. He included that there was a 90-day window amid which the race could lawfully happen. "It costs you nothing, its still inside the law," Dasuki said he told the INEC director. Dasuki said it was for INEC and not for him to choose. "What sense does it make to vote three months early when there are 30 million cards still with INEC? That is my position," Dasuki said.

Then, the representative of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lai Mohammed told Reuters,

"Why are they not prepared? Why would it be a good idea for us to delay? We say "no" to delay. They realize that in the event that they don't delay they can't win. They are recently alarmed."
