N.9 billion allocated to each Federal University in 2014

All Federal University got N912 million from the Tertiary Education monetary fund (TETFund) in 2014.

Nigeria's Minister of Education, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, disclosed this in national capital at the general public presentation of a document, 'Consolidating the Transformation within the Education Sector: A Strategy- July 2014-May 2015,' on Mon.

The Minister noted the figures showed a marked increase from the N303 million allotted in 2010

He added that public polytechnics were allotted N661million every, as against N180m they dawned in 2010 whereas public colleges of Education received N581million, up from N157 million in 2010.

Shekarau additionally highlighted the positives of the education sector that has been criticized in recent times.

"Out of the nineteen universities that won the World Bank grant for research, 10 are from Federal Republic of Nigeria, and everyone of them is to receive $8million each,” he said.

"So however will anyone say nothing sensible is going on in Nigeria?"

He additionally drawn up a lot of respect and incentives for those within the teaching profession.
