
Security was heightened round the Osun State Court premises on friday as Governor Rauf Aregbesola and also the Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo ( SAN), appeared before the Election Petitions assembly hearing matters arising from the August nine election within the state.
There were a lot of armed security agents within the court and round the court premises on friday than at the previous sittings.
The police, as usual, closed the road before of the court to business vehicles and motorcycles whereas personal cars, with verifiable missions round the space, were allowed to maneuver on the road.
Operatives of the Department of State Security and Explosives Ordinance Department were on the bottom to confirm that there was no security breach.
The pair appeared before the Justice Elizabeth Ikpejime-led assembly on the day once the second respondent, the APC opened their defence within the petition filed by legislator Iyiola Omisore of PDP to challenge Aregbesola’s finish.
The APC referred to Isahu Olawale from Ejigbo LGA; Musa Abdulbaki from Osogbo LGA; Opeyemi Olalemi from Atakumosa East and Ayomide Otegbayo from LGA.
The four witnesses told the panel that the election was free, truthful and credible whereas being LED obvious by the second respondent’s counsel.
The witnesses insisted that the election was credible throughout the cross examination by the petitioner’s counsel, Mr. Nathaniel Oke (SAN).
The panel adjourned sitting to Saturday for the APC to continue with the testimonies of their witnesses.
Osinbajo insisted in associate interview with journalists once the proceedings that the August nine poll within the state was credible.
