The England FA has discounted any plausibility of England confronting the Super Eagles in an agreeable this year.
The Federation president Amaju Pinnick had gone to London to meet FA executive Greg Dyke, in the trust of securing an agreeable with the Three Lions.
In an announcement by the FA on its site, it expressed that that was not going to happen.
''The discourses included reference to Mr Pinnick's thankfulness for English football and his longing to encourage closer connections between the NFF and The FA,'' the announcement read.
''Albeit there are no arrangements soon for a senior men's match in the middle of England and Nigeria, it was consented to keep dialog open between the nations.
