A pipeline explosion in the Arepo area of Ogun State killed about 30 people who went to siphon petroleum products from a ruptured Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation pipeline on Saturday.
It was learnt that the fire broke out after vandals started fighting over the oil. One of them was said to have fired a shot that that led to the explosion.

A mysterious fire, which engulfed a house in Ubachima, Awo Omamma, Oru East Local Gouncil Area of Imo State, has consumed a pregnant woman and her two-year-old daughter.
It was not clear how the fire started but two conflicting accounts were peddled by villagers as the cause of the inferno when Vanguard visited the scene of the ugly incident.

The Dean, School of Basic Medical Sciences of the University of Benin, Prof. Isaiah Ibeh on Tuesday announced the development of a new drug that can possibly cure HIV and AIDS.
While briefing newsmen in Benin, Prof. Ibeh said the herbal drug had undergone “series of successful tests”.
He said, “We are at the threshold of making history, in the sense that we seem to have with us something that will permanently take care of what over time seems to have defied all solutions.
