To strengthen and mark a sense of identity for the people of Bayelsa State, The State Government has approved a State Coat of Arms, Emblem and Anthem.
It was said that tha state's house of assembly has put forth due agreement to the flag, coat of arms and anthem for Bayelsa State only for the Governor (Gov. Seriake Dickson) to give his accent to the law.
Also, it was said that the emblem, coat of arms and state's anthem will serve as a unifying force for all Ijaw people and will promote Ijaw fundamental interests.
