Bomb explosions hit Kano State once more

A bomb explosion at a
predominantly Christian quarters
of Sabon Gari area of Kano
municipality Sunday evening
triggered pandemonium among
residents and unsettled nightlife.
An eyewitness said the incident
occurred at New Road axis of the
city at about 7.15pm which caused
minimal damage to a CRV Honda
car parked at the scene
.
The eyewitness reported that
another explosion was heard
shortly after two men alighted
from a commercial motorbike,
walked through the spot and
within three minutes a low calibre
IED exploded.
According to the account
unidentified persons planted the
IED materials in used soft drink
can and threw it in between two
cars in the area.
The attack at the heart of Sabon
Gari crippled nightlife as echo of
January 20th multiple explosion in
the city reverberated forcing shop
owner to hurriedly close.
The police Public Relation Officer,
ASP Musa Magaji Majia confirmed
the incident adding that “it was a
low calibre Improvised Explosive
Devise.
ASP Majia stated that a team of
anti-bomb disposal unit backed by
heavily armed personnel were
drafted to the area stressing that
there was no injury or death.
He revealed that the police has
increased its patrol in the city and
advised citizens to go about their
legitimate businesses without fear
of molestation
.
