A Federal High Court, sitting in Kano, has directed that former governor of the Jigawa State, Sule Lamido and his two sons, Aminu and Mustapha, be remanded in Kano Prison till September 28 when they can be permitted bail.
The presiding judge, Justice Evelyn Anyadike at the hearing ordered that the ex-governor, his sons and one of his aides, Aminu Mustapha, be remanded in the Kano Prison despite a plea from their counsel that they should be transferred to the EFCC cell in Abuja or Kano.
If we recall, Lamido and his two sons were accused of receiving bribe amounting to N1.35 billion from government contractors as the then governor of Jigawa State.
