Persons with disability to register Says The Lagos State Govt,

Lagos State Office for incapacity Affairs on Friday urged persons with incapacity to register with the city State Residents Registration Agency.

General Manager of LASODA, Dr Tunde Awelenje, gave the recommendation in an interview with NAN in Lagos.

Awelenje aforesaid the registration would change them to fancy the advantages of the Special Peoples’ Law of the state.

“As I speak with you, there's registration of individuals with disabilities in Lagos State that's in progress.

“That may be a necessity for any gratifying advantages of Lagos State Special Peoples’ Law that was signed by our Governor, in person Babatunde Fashola, in 2011.

“The registration can entitle them to incapacity certificates, which could be temporary or permanent.

“Temporary within the sense that for an individual living with incapacity for under a hundred and eighty days or roughly six months, we tend to contemplate it as temporary.

“For any incapacity uninterrupted over a hundred and eighty days or six month, we tend to contemplate it as permanent.

“That certificate can entitle them to all or any the gratifying advantages of the Lagos State Special Peoples’ Law, like custom-made  e-signal, or normally known as ‘Blue Badge’ in advanced countries, to be used at the parking heaps.”

NAN reports that the city authorities had on July 20 commenced the registration of individuals with disabilities within the state.
