A gun battle near a mosque in the northern city of Kano and two other shootings left at least eight people dead on Sunday in the latest violence to hit the area, authorities said. The present president of Ghana Dr John Evans Atta Mills was declared dead today. This was made known by a statement made by the office of the presidency
"It is with a heavy heart...that we announce the sudden and untimely death of the president of the Republic of Ghana."
The 68-year-old president was to contest in the general election coming up in a few months time for a second term in office. The cause of his death is still yet

It was announced yesterday in Abuja that the Federal Government of Nigeria has agreed to pay a sum of N5,000 as a measure to deal with maternal mortality.
According to Channels Tv, the plan would be executed as part of the Midwifery Service Scheme (MSS) introduced in 2010.

Residents of Nasarawa ward of Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, yesterday,
woke up to the shocking news of the slaughter of twin teenagers by yet to be identified persons. The state Commissioner of Police, Patrick Egbuniwe, who confirmed the incidence in Damaturu said the command was suspecting members of the Boko Haram Islamic sect. He also revealed that the oldest private school
in the state, Yobe Children’s Academy, had also been burned down.
According to the Police boss, the cases of night killings and burning of schools are on the increase in the state capital as the hoodlums no longer use gun or explosive devices but resort to slaughtering of their victims as sounds of guns and bombs often attracts immediate response by security agents.

Everything that happened between you and Prezzo, would you say it was a strategy you used or your real self because it did not go down well with a lot of your fans.?
First of all, going into a place like Big Brother house, where you come in contact with people you don’t know, people you have never met before in your life. Personally, I didn’t go into the house to perform, I went there as Susan. I went into the house to bemyself , I went there as an individual, and I didn’t go there to perform on stage as Goldie. I went there as Susan.

Sylvester Stallone was described as “devastated” Friday after his 36-year-old son Sage, who is also an actor, was found dead.
Sage Moonblood Stallone, who appeared in the 1990s as Rocky Balboa Jr, the son of his father’s title character, was found dead at his Hollywood home, media reports said.
“Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son, Sage Stallone .. His loss will be felt forever,” said a statement issued by his publicist, Michelle Bega.
